Buyer guide

How to Choose the Right Golf Flag

Answer three questions and you will know exactly which flag type fits your course or event.

1. What is the flag for?

Daily course play — Plain or embroidered regulation flags hold up to constant handling and weather. Solid, numbered, and handle-only builds are the standard starting point.

Practice green — Practice green flags are smaller than regulation and built for shorter flagsticks. Plain and embroidered options are both available.

Driving range — Range flags are typically plain solid builds sized for distance markers and high-volume replacement cycles.

Tournament or event — Custom embroidered or silk screened flags with sponsor logos, tournament marks, or cause branding. See the Custom Flags page.

2. Do you need custom artwork?

No artwork — Plain numbered flags are the fastest and most economical choice. No art setup is required.

Logo or club branding — Embroidery is the premium choice for logos, delivering a stitched finish that holds detail and texture. Silk screen is the practical choice for flat, multi-color artwork at volume.

Not sure which process fits your art? — See the Embroidered vs. Silk Screened comparison below, or call for a quick art review before committing to a build.

3. What is your quantity and timeline?

18 flags or fewer — Plain or embroidered builds work well at lower quantities. Custom work can often turn around in two weeks or less with priority service available.

27 or more flags — The Buy 27, Get 9 FREE promotion applies to all flag types. Larger sets are well-suited to embroidered or silk screened builds with consistent branding across all 18 holes.

Tight deadline — Contact the team with your event date. Priority turnaround is available by request for both embroidered and silk screened production.

Process comparison

Embroidered vs. Silk Screened Flags

Both processes use the same 400 denier nylon base. The difference is how the artwork is applied and what that means for your flag program.

Embroidered Flags

How it works: Artwork is stitched directly into the flag fabric using thread. Embroidery is performed in house.

Best for: Club logos, crests, detailed graphics, and any program where a premium textured finish matters. Reflective handle options are also available on embroidered builds.

Artwork: No art charges. Vector files are best, but the team can review whatever source art you have.

Turnaround: Custom embroidery can often turn around in two weeks or less. Priority service is available by request.

Silk Screened Flags

How it works: Artwork is applied through a printed process, with 1 through 6 color options available.

Best for: Broad solid-color artwork, tournament programs with high-volume printing needs, and any project where flat repeatable color is a priority over stitched texture.

Artwork: No art charges. 1 through 6 color prints are supported. Gradients and photographic art are generally not a match for screen printing.

Turnaround: Same two-week-or-less custom window applies to silk screened production as well.

Not Sure Which to Pick?

The easiest way to decide is to send the artwork. The team can review it and tell you which process fits best based on color count, detail level, and the flag build you have in mind.

Both processes carry the same USA-made construction, Buy 27 Get 9 FREE promotion, and no art charge policy.

Sizes and specs

Golf Flag Sizes and Flagstick Compatibility

Choosing the wrong size flag for your flagstick or cup setup is one of the most common ordering mistakes. Here is what to know before you order.

Regulation Flags

Standard regulation golf flags measure 14 inches tall by 20 inches wide. This is the USGA-recognized size for course play and fits standard flagsticks.

Regulation flags are available in plain, embroidered, and silk screened builds, with solid, numbered, logo, diagonal, checkered, pennant, and swallowtail constructions.

Practice Green Flags

Practice green flags are smaller than regulation, typically measuring 6 inches tall by 8 inches wide, designed to fit shorter practice green flagsticks and cups.

Available in plain, embroidered, and silk screened builds. If you are replacing practice green flags, confirm the existing flagstick gauge before ordering to ensure proper fit.
